BNS nodes are compliant with the emerging Decentralized Identity Foundation protocol specification for decentralized identifiers (DIDs).
Each name in BNS has an associated DID. The DID format for BNS is:
did:stack:v0:{address}-{index} - Blockstack DID Spec[ϟ]
