If you want to remove a template you must make sure that it is not being used. To remove a template, the graphical `Qube Manager` (Qubes Menu > Qubes Tools > Qube Manager) may be used. Right-click the template to be uninstalled and click "Delete qube" to begin removal. If no issues are found, a dialog box will request the template's name be typed as a final confirmation. Upon completion, the template will be deleted.
