[Simultaneous multithreading (SMT)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simultaneous_multithreading) has been the cause of numerous hardware&#8209;level vulnerabilities and is thus disabled here. If the option is available, you should disable SMT/"Hyper&#8209;Threading" in your firmware as well.
