According to Title 18, Chapter 17 of the U.S. Code, which sets out crimes related to coins and currency, anyone who “alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens” dollars or coins can face fines or prison time. The same goes for debasing – that is, decreasing the proportion of precious metals – in gold or silver coins struck or coined at an American mint.

I'm all for getting the word out and educating the general public on why we think this issue is important, but.... I don't think writing a bunch of stuff on dollar bills paints us in a good light. It just seems immature to me and will make it even easier for people to not take this cause seriously. As if we're a bunch of teenagers or something. Not trying to be a dick, but I don't know if writing on dollar bills is a positive marketing strategy.
